RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is immediately seeking an Application Support Engineer in support of our enterprise telecommunications and mass media client based in Maryland Heights, MO.

Summary:
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in supporting complex application environments running on internal cloud infrastructure (such as Kubernetes or VMware), with strong expertise in telemetry, monitoring, and release processes. This role requires a deep understanding of application lifecycle management, 24x7 production support, and the ability to troubleshoot across distributed systems.

Responsibilities:
* Provide 24x7 production support for mission-critical applications, including on-call rotations and rapid incident response
* Maintain and enhance monitoring, alerting, and telemetry solutions using tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, or similar platforms
* Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to ensure smooth application deployments and enforce release management best practices
* Troubleshoot application issues across Kubernetes, VMware, and associated middleware stacks, identifying root causes and driving resolution
* Support Java-based applications, including performance tuning, debugging, and issue triage
* Manage and support data layers using SQL, MongoDB, Redis, or other SQL/NoSQL technologies
* Proactively identify and implement improvements in system reliability, automation, and observability

REQUIREMENTS:
* Proven experience supporting internal cloud infrastructure such as Kubernetes and/or VMware
* Proficiency with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics) and a strong understanding of telemetry and observability principles
* Solid experience providing 24x7 support in a production environment, including critical incident management
* Strong hands-on experience with Java applications in a support or engineering capacity
* Familiarity with application deployment pipelines and release management workflows
* Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, and traditional RDBMS platforms
* Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Skills:
* Experience with CI/CD tools and automated deployment processes
* Familiarity with ITIL processes or structured incident management frameworks
* Experience in telecom, finance, or other high-availability industries is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
