Senior ServiceNow Developer

Location: Remote (U.S.)
Duration: 12-month contract (full-time, ~2,080 hours)


About the Role

We are seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing enterprise-scale ServiceNow solutions. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued development of a centralized ServiceNow platform that supports digital service delivery and IT modernization across a large public-sector organization.

This position is part of an established Enterprise Platform Team that includes administrators, developers, and project management professionals collaborating to deliver secure, stable, and efficient solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scoped applications within ServiceNow, with emphasis on Public Sector Digital Services (PSDS).

  • Enhance and support ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, IRM, and SPM modules, including Hardware Asset Management (HAM Pro) and Software Asset Management (SAM) implementations.

  • Build and maintain integrations with internal systems and third-party applications.

  • Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions aligned with platform standards.

  • Produce high-quality documentation including business rules, flows, roles, tables, and configuration settings.

  • Lead platform best practices across configuration, scripting, testing, change management, and Agile/DevOps processes.

  • Mentor junior developers and participate in knowledge transfer to internal technical teams.

  • Ensure compliance with ITIL, security, and data governance standards.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Advanced knowledge of ServiceNow development, JavaScript scripting, and application architecture.

  • Hands-on experience with PSDS, HAM Pro, SAM, and core ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, IRM, and SPM.

  • Proven ability to lead technical design, solutioning, and delivery in complex environments.

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow DevOps and Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.

  • Prior experience supporting public-sector or government ServiceNow implementations.

  • Typically 3 5+ years of ServiceNow development experience demonstrating senior-level ownership and leadership.


Preferred Certifications

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)

  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in relevant modules
