Role: Mainframe Developer
Location : onsite (Texas, Plano)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer with extensive experience in software development and a strong focus on DB2 Mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that meet business requirements while ensuring high performance and reliability. This role requires a deep understanding of DB2 Mainframe systems and the ability to work collaboratively within a team to deliver high quality software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement software applications using DB2 Mainframe technologies.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to enhance code quality.
- Debug and troubleshoot software issues, providing timely resolutions to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain and optimize existing applications, ensuring they meet performance and scalability requirements.
- Document software designs, processes, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve software development practices.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong expertise in DB2 Mainframe, including database design, SQL programming, and performance tuning.
- Proficient in programming languages such as COBOL, Java, or C#.
- Experience with software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and best practices.
- Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with other database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
- Experience with modern development tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and their integration with mainframe systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7 10 years of experience in software development, with a focus on DB2 Mainframe.
- Proven track record of delivering high quality software solutions on time and within budget.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
