Experience:
8+ years hands-on experience in server-side/web services development on J2EE platform.
8+ years experience across all phases of SDLC.
8+ years programming experience with Java, J2EE, REST/SOAP, HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS3, Bootstrap, SASS, Angular, Typescript, Spring, JSON, XML, JWT, NPM, Maven, OpenAPI v3, OAuth, Postman, ReadyAPI, Mulesoft.
8+ years experience implementing REST services and security using JWT, OAuth.
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, caching, and scalability in web UI applications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years experience with JBoss or IBM WebSphere Application Server 8 or later.
3+ years experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum preferred).

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support Social Services Applications initiatives.
The candidate will develop, enhance, maintain, and support web-based J2EE/Portal applications within HHSC's SOA platform using Agile methodologies.
All deliverables will be considered "works made for hire" and subject to Texas law, including criminal background checks.
Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-class applications for State Portal, Workflow Management, Eligibility Web Services, and other Social Services applications.
Participate in requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment of new application components.
Create technical and design documentation as required.
Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
Analyze software for configuration and performance tuning opportunities.
Develop and maintain data and process models.
Employ contemporary testing methods to ensure application reliability.
Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.
Support defect repair, maintenance, and production operations for web-based Java applications.
Collaborate with other teams to accomplish project goals.
