The Role:

An Infrastructure Solutions Architect is responsible for hands-on technical pre- and post-sale enablement, working actively with account managers to drive business within AE's Infrastructure Practice at new and existing enterprise clients. You aim to build strategy and vision while becoming a trusted advisor, partner, and point of accountability with client stakeholders.

A Day in the Life:
  • Architect solutions to solve customer business needs.
  • Provide engineering expertise in the pre and post-sale stages.
  • Build in-depth knowledge of clients' technical priorities, challenges and initiatives and map those needs to AE's core offerings and competencies.
  • Responsible for architecting and proposing (i.e. presenting) technology solutions, along with implementation of services, that meets customers' business and technical needs.
  • Assist account managers with solution validation, proposal generation, quoting and developing account strategies.
  • Assist in the development of services and solution offerings.
  • Educate customer's Technical and Business leaders on proposed solutions.
  • Build value-added relationships within the domain of new or existing accounts to become the trusted technical advisor.
  • Identifying new opportunities across lines of business and engaging sales team on the opportunity.
  • Research new technologies and market direction.
  • Oversee the installation and implementation of assigned products including coordination of vendor participation.
  • Responsible to ensure that proposed solutions, when implemented, meet the needs and functional requirements of the customer.
  • Achieving required certifications for manufacturers we support.
  • Creating technical documentation of solutions proposed and/or implemented


What You'll Need:
  • Deeply knowledgeable and experienced with at least one enterprise VI platform (Nutanix, VMware vSphere, et. al), one enterprise storage platform (Pure Storage, Hitachi, NetApp, Dell EMC, et. al), and one enterprise data protection platform (Rubrik, Commvault, Veeam, Zerto, et. al).
  • Foundational understanding of one or more of the following: public CSP (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform) cloud infrastructure and networking, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), data center automation.
  • Multi-disciplinary technologist with hands-on-keyboard experience data center compute and storage architectures. Additional practical experience with cloud architecture and automation are in your toolbox or on your roadmap.
  • Careful communicator who writes well and listens like an interpreter. You re-read written communication before sending or printing.
  • Actively organized individual exercising methods toward organization, task management, and note-taking.
  • Receptive to professional feedback, able to self-assess, and able to provide thoughtful feedback.
  • Comfortable and successful engaging someone who wears a tie, skirt, t-shirt, or combination in front of a whiteboard, at a podium, on a conference call, or during happy hour.
  • Enjoy rapidly gaining context and knowledge in new technology areas with minimal supervision. You have a personal lab within a service provider, basement, or bunker.
  • Carry an innate or learned ability to accept requirements or documentation as input and output a slide deck or equivalent.
  • Ability to maintain or obtain certification in relevant technology domains - as professionally required or personally interested.
  • Comfortable with occasional travel throughout the state and enjoy yearly national travel to events and conferences with a team.
  • Active contributor to organizational culture, able to form and express continually curated opinions of your own.
