Summary
Our client, a leading engineering firm with expertise in water, wastewater, civil, and environmental services, is seeking an experienced Senior CAD Design Technician to lead and support their CAD department. This role includes creating 3D models, drafting plans, and preparing detailed drawings while ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with project specifications. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, creativity, and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Responsibilities also include mentoring CAD staff, managing workloads, and supporting engineers and project managers in delivering precise, high-quality designs.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead CAD team oversight, scheduling, workload management, and quality control.
- Create and review 3D models, detailed drawings, and project layouts.
- Assist engineers in preparing designs for civil site/grading plans, pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants, and related facilities.
- Ensure compliance with CAD standards and industry best practices.
- Provide training, technical support, and promote continuous improvement within the CAD department.
- Stay current on CAD/Modeling software advancements and implement new tools where beneficial.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with Autodesk Revit
- Exposure to ArcGIS, Bentley Microstation/Openroads Designer is a plus
- Experience with civil design for water treatment systems (piping networks, grading design, etc)
- Team leadership and training experience (ability to lead a team of 4-5 Designers)
- QA/QC review of CAD deliverables
