Job Title: Snowflake Developer
Location: Boston, MA (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Snowflake Architect/Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Snowflake, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud data architecture. This role requires deep technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions that meet business analytics and reporting needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize query performance, resource utilization, and storage.
- User & Access Management: Manage roles, permissions, and access policies to ensure compliance and data security.
- Data Integration: Oversee and support data loading, transformation, and extraction processes.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Resolve Snowflake-related performance issues, query bottlenecks, and provide ongoing technical support.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain system documentation and generate regular performance reports.
- Collaboration: Work with data engineers, analysts, and IT staff to ensure seamless system integration.
- Best Practices: Stay updated on Snowflake advancements and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or database development.
- 2+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience (data modeling, security, performance tuning).
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Strong SQL and Python proficiency.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and analytics.
- Familiarity with source control tools (GitHub preferred).
- Exposure to AI/automation tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Snowflake architecture, features, and query optimization.
- Strong database design and data modeling background (experience with modeling tools preferred).
- Knowledge of Snowflake security features (access control, authentication, encryption, masking, etc.).
- Experience integrating Snowflake with BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Experience with data pipelines, automation, and cloud-based integration.
- Familiarity with identity and access management tools (Azure IDP is a plus).
- Experience with other RDBMS, cloud warehouses, or big data platforms is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Snowflake certification (e.g., SnowPro Core or Advanced).
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Knowledge of T-SQL, DevOps, and scripting.
