Job Details
UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Cybersecurity AI Engineer with advanced expertise in cybersecurity, Python development, and secure AI integration. The selected candidate will support a citywide digital services platform and work closely with leadership and cybersecurity teams to develop, test, and secure artificial intelligence applications that serve millions of users. Must be willing and ready to work onsite Mon-Fri in Brooklyn, NY.

Candidates who do not meet the mandatory qualifications will not be considered.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity or information security and Python development
- Proficiency in REST API integration to build tools and platform integrations
- Experience with Git version control and full Git development lifecycle
- Ability to write test scripts, automate test cases, and analyze test results using modern testing frameworks
- Ability to learn and implement new technologies and methods independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both expert and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to stay current on emerging trends and best practices in AI and software testing
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills in dynamic technical environments
- Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Background in working within a security-focused technical environment
- Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new technologies
- Design and implement secure AI-powered solutions that enhance system security across multiple platforms
- Develop security-focused code and content for tools relied on by threat management teams
- Build and deploy machine learning models for incident response, security orchestration, and threat detection
- Integrate innovative technology to improve the accuracy and relevance of alerts and security notifications
- Create and maintain clear, well-documented code, technical processes, and solution artifacts
- Utilize REST and SOAP APIs from existing cybersecurity solutions to enhance detection and response
- Perform functional, regression, performance, and usability testing to evaluate the behavior of AI models
- Collaborate closely with cybersecurity leadership, engineering, and incident response teams
- Support special projects and initiatives as assigned
- 35 hours per week, MondayFriday, standard business hours (excluding mandatory unpaid meal break after 6 hours)
- Remote work; candidate must be available for on-camera interviews
