AWS Engineer/Architect
Client: Comcast Location: Reston, VA OR Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid 3 days office and 2 days remote)
We are looking for an AWS Engineer/Architect to establish a robust observability platform on AWS, begin with assessing observability needs across metrics, logs, and traces, considering system architecture, compliance, and retention requirements. Architecturally, the solution should include a high-level design covering telemetry collection, storage, analytics, and alerting, along with a low-level design detailing networking, security, and data flows. The platform should be built for scalability, resilience, and strong security using IAM, encryption, and monitoring tools like GuardDuty and CloudTrail.
Responsibilities:
Guidance on AWS Services:
- Observability requirements assessment.
- Recommendations and best-practice guidance on suitable AWS services.
- Workshops and knowledge transfer sessions.
AWS Architecture Design for Observability Services Platform:
- High-level architectural design document.
- Detailed, low-level architectural design document (including network, data flow, security).
- Scalability and resilience plan.
- Security design.
Monitoring, Alerting, and Dashboard Implementation:
- Implementation of core monitoring alarms.
- Creation of initial performance dashboards.
- Documentation of troubleshooting/fix procedures for alerts.
AWS Cost Avoidance and Optimization:
- Cost analysis of the proposed architecture.
- Design recommendations for cost minimization.
- Guidance on AWS cost management tools.
Assistance Creating Automated CI/CD Processes:
- Design and documentation of CI/CD pipelines (Infrastructure as Code).
- Implementation support for initial CI/CD pipeline setup.
- Best practices documentation for CI/CD.
- Training/workshop on CI/CD processes.
Management Procedures Documentation:
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for routine management and maintenance of the platform.
