Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Warehouse Quality Assurance Analyst (MES Tester) to support the Medicaid Data Warehouse Migration Project.
This role focuses on testing and validating ETL data pipelines and Cognos reports to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across key Medicaid data domains — including member, claims, encounters, and provider datasets.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in data validation, ETL verification, and report testing within a Medicaid or healthcare data warehouse environment.


Key Responsibilities

Validate ETL pipelines following data migration from legacy systems to new data warehouses or cloud platforms.
Test and verify Cognos reports for accuracy, completeness, formatting, and compliance with business rules.
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for ETL and reporting validation.
Perform data reconciliation between source, staging, and target systems to ensure integrity and correctness.
Collaborate with data engineers and business analysts to understand reporting requirements and ETL logic.
Identify, log, and track defects and discrepancies using tools such as JIRA.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for data and report validation.
Document all testing activities, results, and recommendations for project reporting.
Ensure testing adheres to HIPAA, CMS, and state Medicaid compliance standards.


Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
5–7 years of software testing experience — preferably in Medicaid or healthcare data systems
Knowledge of Medicaid data domains (eligibility, enrollment, claims, encounters, providers)
Hands-on experience in ETL validation and data migration testing
Strong experience testing and validating Cognos reports
Proficiency in SQL for data validation and troubleshooting
Familiarity with data warehouses, staging environments, and OLAP systems
Experience with test management tools such as JIRA and Selenium
Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Medicaid Cloud Data Warehouse implementations and migrations
Exposure to ETL tools such as IBM DataStage
Familiarity with AWS-based data management and analytics solutions
