Now Hiring: Data Governance Analyst


Location: Hybrid Lincoln or Omaha, NE
Work Mode: Hybrid (onsite as needed)


Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Data Governance Analyst to help build and manage a comprehensive data governance program. This role involves establishing policies, enforcing data quality standards, driving compliance, and supporting a data-driven culture. You ll work cross-functionally with IT, business units, and leadership to ensure data is trusted, secure, and leveraged effectively across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

<> Strategy & Program Implementation</>
  • Implement and support a data governance strategy aligned with enterprise goals

  • Develop and enforce data governance frameworks, policies, and operating procedures

  • Define and monitor data quality KPIs, compliance metrics, and adoption benchmarks

<> Data Standards & Metadata Management</>
  • Enforce data standards, naming conventions, and classification rules

  • Collaborate on data dictionary and metadata repository creation and upkeep

  • Ensure consistent and accurate data across systems and departments

<> Data Stewardship & Quality Assurance</>
  • Coordinate data profiling, cleansing, and monitoring activities

  • Facilitate data issue identification, resolution, and stakeholder escalation

<> Compliance & Privacy</>
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and internal policies

  • Monitor data access controls, consent management, and perform audits

  • Recommend and implement risk mitigation strategies and improvements

<> Education, Advocacy & Communication</>
  • Deliver training and awareness sessions on data governance practices

  • Advocate for a data-driven culture across departments

  • Participate in governance committees and engage executive stakeholders


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Business Analytics, or related field

  • 3+ years in data governance, data management, or related areas

  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality, and metadata management

  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, etc.)

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of data management tools; experience with Collibra (especially catalog administration, training, and adoption)

  • Change management or organizational transformation experience

  • Certifications such as CDMP or CDGP are a plus
