Our client, a leading transportation brand, is seeking a talented Email Marketing Designer to support a growing portfolio of marketing and transactional email campaigns. This contract role is ideal for a senior-level designer who brings a deep understanding of responsive email layouts, accessibility standards, and brand consistency. You'll collaborate closely with copywriters, developers, and marketing stakeholders to create visually compelling emails that drive engagement and deliver a seamless customer experience across devices and platforms.

responsibilities:
- Design visually engaging marketing and transactional emails aligned with brand guidelines and campaign goals
- Translate creative briefs, copy decks, and strategy into high-quality, on-brand email designs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with copywriters, developers, CRM teams, and marketing managers to ensure cohesive execution
- Prepare production-ready design files and specs for development handoff
- Apply accessibility best practices to ensure inclusive email design
- Design with modularity in mind for scalable email systems (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
- Maintain awareness of email design limitations, including image blocking, file size constraints, and HTML/CSS rendering
- Use Figma and other design tools to build responsive, pixel-perfect layouts
qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in digital or email design, preferably in a marketing or CRM environment
- Strong portfolio showcasing responsive email design and layout skills
- Proficiency in Figma or similar design/prototyping tools
- Solid understanding of HTML/CSS and how design translates into code
- Experience working with modular email systems (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for email
- Familiarity with email rendering limitations across major clients and devices
- Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional, fast-paced teams
- Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field preferred
- Experience in regulated or enterprise environments (transportation, finance, healthcare) is a plus
