Job Details

The real time Lead Performance Optimization Engineer ensures that real time market data applications are delivering data with optimized performance and latency while carrying the world's most critical financial data. Our high performance software must deliver from exchanges spread across the globe to our clients in just a few milliseconds while normalizing the data into a common format.

This role will rapidly become an expert on the latest proprietary LSEG technology and performance metrics while using performance testing environments to identify and implement improvements to the throughputs in the system.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement performance and tuning modules for high efficiency and reliability
  • Lead investigations into performance bottlenecks and devise solutions to these problems
  • Research and develop new solutions to software performance challenges bringing to bear a range of technologies
  • Analyze key performance indicators, liaise with Operations, cross function application teams to identify bottleneck and make improvements
  • Act as a technical leader and go to problem solver in the global real time collections team for performance related concerns
  • Drive forward improvements to our frameworks, infrastructure, and process to better manage capacity and efficiency in our system
  • Lead and mentor other developers on the team to ensure that we can tackle capacity challenges at scale.
  • Provide a simplified view of capacity and system performance status for senior management
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of full life-cycle software development experience
  • 5+ years of object oriented development in C++
  • Experience optimizing efficiency of real time systems
  • Strong understanding of the Linux operating system
  • Superb communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to collaborate in a team focused environment
  • Excellent analytical skills and a passion for solving problems.
  • Ability to thoroughly test and debug code using test driven development
  • Ability to suggest/research new technologies and quickly adapt to change
  • Ability to work with both Technical Architects and Product Owners in order to build to specification
  • Object oriented design

  • Knowledge of scripting languages Python, Unix or Powershell shell scripts desirable
  • Adept at software design
