Job Details

Seeking an experienced and motivated Planning Supervisor to support production for our growing systems product lines at our Billerica manufacturing facility. This role plays a key part in developing and managing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory and capacity.

You ll lead a small team of buyer-planners and collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure on-time delivery and production efficiency.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, lean manufacturing environment and is experienced with MRP planning, inventory management, kanban systems, and managing complex BOMs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of buyer-planners supporting systems production.

  • Develop and maintain the MPS based on backlog, forecasts, capacity, and material availability.

  • Collaborate with operations, logistics, and procurement to align production goals.

  • Communicate lead times and delivery dates to Sales based on capacity and inventory.

  • Monitor and respond to capacity constraints and supply risks.

  • Release work orders based on MRP signals and kanban triggers.

  • Track production output against plan and drive corrective actions where needed.

  • Continuously improve planning tools and processes for better accuracy and efficiency.

  • Resolve inventory discrepancies in partnership with warehouse and materials teams.

  • Support new product introductions (NPIs) by planning build schedules and ensuring material readiness.

  • Manage supplier communication, quoting, and purchase order placement as needed.


Qualifications

  • 5 10 years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Bachelor s degree preferred; APICS certification is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud or Thruput.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (advanced level).

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, kanban systems, and BOM management.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • High level of organization, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
