Job Summary

The Analytics Engineer for Data Lake will serve as a key figure in the Data Engineering team, focused on ensuring the efficient operation and evolution of data lake environments. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing scalable data storage solutions, optimizing data flows, and ensuring high-quality data ingestion and processing. The Analytics Engineer will also play a crucial role in developing and maintaining data models, enforcing data governance practices, and supporting analytics and data science teams by providing accessible, reliable data. Collaboration with other engineers, stakeholders, and customers to align data strategies and outcomes is essential. Additionally, this position requires a commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and adherence to best practices in data management and analytics.

This position is required to report to the SHI Austin, TX or Somerset, NJ office location as determined by SHI management.

Responsibilities

Include but not limited to:
  • Develop and maintain Data Stack around Cloud Data Warehouse including layers for ingestion, transformation, storage, and BI/reporting
  • Build and deploy dashboards and reporting to monitor important indicators for decision making around enterprise technology needs and emerging technology solutions
  • Developing and maintaining metadata management practices
  • Integrate datasets across disparate sources, transform and model raw inputs into a form suitable for analysis
  • Generate reports from multiple databases/data sets merging into spreadsheets and/or database
  • Analyze, interpret, format, and summarize data for management review
  • Automating data ingestion and integration processes
  • Implementing data quality checks and balances
  • Monitoring performance and tuning query executions
  • Providing technical support to analytics and data science teams
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their data needs


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering etc.) or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience of working with statistical models for summarization and inference
  • 2+ years of experience with:
    • SQL Relational Database Management
    • Scientific programming in Python or C#
    • BI Reporting and dashboards in PowerBI, Tableau, Shiny, Dash, Metabase, Superset or equivalent BI tool
    • Data manipulation and visualization libraries (tidyverse, pandas, ggplot, matplotlib, etc.)
    • Microsoft Excel
  • 2+ years of Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban agile frameworks preferred

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $90,000 - $140,000 which includes a base salary. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
