Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Performance Engineering & Testing Lead to join our Test Automation Framework Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and Application Performance Engineering and Testing, test automation, with a passion for building robust, scalable, and efficient test frameworks. Your Role

Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Design, Develop, and maintain Performance testing scripts, automated test capabilities (test frameworks, processes, and tools) to be consumed by development teams in a self-serve fashion via the client's Internal Developer Platform (IDP)
- Review Performance testing intake requests, validate and prioritize and assign to the team. Lead performance resources ensuring team delivers high quality performance engineering capabilities
- Contribute to developing best practices for test-driven development (TDD), Early Performance Testing and testing throughout the SDLC (unit, component-level, integration, capacity, exploratory, etc.)
- Administer and support Performance /Load Testing tools such as Load Runner Enterprise/Azure Load Test, foundational test automation tools and platforms
- Work closely with cross-functional teams across all IT to integrate automated testing practices into the software development lifecycle, driving and measuring adoption and utilization of the performance test frameworks
- Engage with key IT Portfolio leads business teams to align the portfolio for agile performance testing. Play a trusted performance consultant role to IT Dev and business teams and help deriving benefits from Performance testing services and implement performance best practices.
- Prepare and maintain detailed system diagrams, technical documentation and specifications for Test Frameworks (specifically Performance, Load and Scalability Testing) as required and necessary to ensure and maintain consistently exceptional quality in our operations
- Consult, guide and assist users, developers, analysts, and leaders across all levels of the organization with performance engineering practices
- Lead and assist in ensuring compliance with our solutions and the security of company data and assets
- Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and retrospectives. Lead performance testing efforts across applications, ensuring system scalability and reliability.
- Develop and maintain performance documentation including test plans, use cases, and summary reports. Analyze test results and communicate findings to business, development, and DevOps teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, automate, and execute performance test cases. Design and execute performance/load/stress test scenarios to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
- Integrate automated performance tests into CI/CD pipelines and monitor test results. Monitor system metrics and logs during test execution; perform root cause analysis for performance issues.
- Troubleshoot performance issues in both test and production environments
Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Requires 7+ years of professional experience serving as a technical expert in software development, experience in performance engineering and testing, and testing automation
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript; database knowledge/experience required
- Proven experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or similar). Accessibility Testing is a plus
- Strong understanding of system architecture, application design, and performance tuning. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey technical findings to diverse audiences. Ability to lead and mentor team members, fostering a culture of performance excellence.
- Knowledge of service level objectives (SLOs), workload modeling, and performance risk management.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps and integrating performance tests into automated workflows
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
