Job Summary
Mizuho Bank is seeking an experienced Core Java Developer with strong Market Data and Fixed Income trading domain expertise. The ideal candidate will work closely with front-office, risk, and technology teams to design, develop, enhance, and support market data ingestion systems, pricing engines, and fixed-income trading applications. This role requires strong hands-on coding skills, excellent understanding of capital markets, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, front-office environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java-based applications supporting Fixed Income trading and Market Data platforms.
Implement data ingestion pipelines for real-time and historical market data (Equities, Rates, Credit, Bonds, FX, etc.).
Develop and enhance pricing, risk, and analytics components used by traders and quants.
Work directly with business users (trading desk, quants, risk managers) to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
Optimize application performance, low-latency communication, and throughput for market data distribution.
Troubleshoot production issues, ensure system stability, and participate in on-call support as needed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, Infrastructure) to ensure smooth deployment and integration.
Follow best practices in code quality, version control, CI/CD, and production release processes.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience in Core Java development (Java 8/11+).
Strong experience with:
Multithreading, concurrency, and low-latency Java programming.
Data structures, algorithms, and performance tuning.
Hands-on working experience in Market Data systems:
Bloomberg, Refinitiv/Reuters, ICE, MarketAxess, Tradeweb, etc. (any combination).
Experience in Fixed Income products such as:
Bonds, Treasuries, Munis, MBS, Corporate Bonds, Derivatives, Rates.
Experience building or supporting systems for:
Pricing engines, curve building, analytics, market data ingestion.
Strong understanding of capital markets, electronic trading, and front-office environment.
Experience with Kafka, JMS, MQ, or similar messaging frameworks.
Good knowledge of SQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
Familiarity with Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs.
Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle).
Nice to Have
Experience working in large banking environments (preferably Japanese banks like Mizuho, MUFG, SMBC).
Knowledge of AWS or cloud-native Java development.
Experience working with microservices and distributed systems.
Exposure to Python for tooling or analytics.
Prior experience working closely with Quants or Fixed Income trading desks.
