Our West Michigan Client has a contract opportunity for a Sr UX Researcher to join their team. This role will foster data-driven decision making by uncovering actionable insights and developing future strategies that drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate is passionate about understanding user and business needs, mapping workflows, and translating research into clear recommendations for process and tool improvements. This is a remote role with onsite visits to Grand Rapids, MI once a month.

responsibilities:
- Plan and execute qualitative and quantitative user research with both customers and internal users
- Analyze user behavioral and attitudinal data to uncover pain points and unmet needs
- Confidently bridge the gap between business stakeholder and UX
- Conduct a range of research methods including user interviews, usability testing, surveys, blueprinting, journey mapping, and concept testing
- Synthesize and present research findings in context to stakeholders
- Leverage human-centered design principles to develop journey maps, user personas, and jobs to be done
- Work closely with Product, Design, and Development teams to regularly integrate user feedback into the product design and development process
- Work in an Agile environment, coordinating projects by sprints
- Document internal processes and tools to support operational clarity and improvement
qualifications:
5+ years of experience with UX Research
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science, Visual Design, or a related field
Solid understanding of wireframes, user flows, and process flows
Experience with unmoderated testing and prototyping tools
Expert written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
Preferred Experience
Experience working in SAFE Agile environments
Extensive experience with blueprinting and/or journey mapping
Hands-on experience with any of the following tools is preferred: Miro, Userzoom or UserTesting, QuestionPro, Recollective, Figma, FullStory, Medallia, and Microsoft Suite
