We are seeking a full-time Airport Data Analyst-Flight Path in our Scottsdale, AZ location. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing aeronautical data and taking actionable steps to monitor, maintain, and implement safety critical changes into a worldwide airport database for real-time aircraft performance calculations.
Essential Functions
- Assist in developing and conducting runway analysis, utilizing various aeronautical data and obstacle sources, in order to incorporate semi-permanent changes and maintain the currency of a runway database
- Assist in runway analysis evaluations, validating and designing non-complex one engine inoperative emergency procedures for multi-engine fixed wing aircraft
- Conduct runway analysis for one-engine-inoperative emergency scenarios to optimize aircraft payload
- Meet regulatory requirements and/or support services that provide aircraft performance and database exports to our aviation customers
- Maintain high-quality standards and attention to detail to ensure data integrity and safety of flight
- Participate in customer interaction, technical responses, task resolution and escalation, and collaborate with other Garmin teams to resolve challenges
- Review changes to airport and runway characteristics, obstacle surveys, and navigation data via NOTAMs, AIPs, and other validated sources to maintain the currency of an Airport and Runway Database
- Assist in identifying customer needs and resolving conflicts, apply solid judgement when escalation to other teams and/or leadership is needed
- Assist in communicating with governing aviation authorities, airports, surveyors, and/or customers to ensure the accuracy of aeronautical information
- Make decisions on priority and pertinence of information as it relates to aircraft performance
- Proactively identify and report issues, working to identify solutions to aircraft performance
- Perform routine data entry/verification tasks and perform established operations for quality assurance and execute tasks as directed by leadership or mentor
- Ensure the application of appropriate aeronautical specifications to the data and products
- Help evaluate and process database updates according to established methodology.
- Conduct testing and evaluation of Garmin aeronautical data products
- Perform established operations for quality assurance
- Function both as an effective team member and as an independent professional
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Aviation, Business, or a relevant technical discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant aviation work experience
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Overtime, holiday, weekend work, shift work, and/or on-call work may be required
- Demonstrated proficiency with PC applications and Windows Operating System (OS), and the ability to learn new software programs quickly
- Must be detail-oriented, can work proactively/effectively with minimal supervision, and is able to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
- Ability to work and thrive in a technical environment
Desired Qualifications
- Previous work experience in aviation and/or Private Pilot's License.
- Understanding of Aeronautical navigation data and/or Instrument Flight Rules, Instrument Procedures, and the National Airspace System
