The Impact You Will Have:
The IAM Security Engineer is instrumental in fortifying the defenses of our technological infrastructure. Responsible for the orchestrating and refining our Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems, this role ensures secure and efficient access controls throughout the enterprise. Their expertise in Privileged Access Management (PAM), especially with tools like CyberArk, acts as a vanguard against unauthorized access and potential breaches. Through the proficient use of scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell, they automate intricate IAM processes, bridging the gap between security and efficiency. By translating complex technical protocols into digestible information, they also foster collaboration, ensuring developers are equipped with the security knowledge necessary for their roles.
Your Responsibilities:
- Collaborates closely with developers to integrate IAM requirements into software and application development.
- Monitors and audits access rights, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provides technical guidance on IAM best practices and participates in cross-functional security initiatives.
- Advises on enterprise-wide infrastructure systems growth requirements, capabilities, and constraints to ensure the long-term functionality and operation standards.
- Assists manager in facilitating goal accomplishment by providing work direction to assigned employees and by monitoring the status of work on a daily basis.
- Conducts detailed analysis and study of customer requirements for new or existing projects to determine feasibility, cost and time required, and compatibility with current systems and hardware capabilities.
- Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation for changes to technical standards.
- Develops moderate to highly complex infrastructure interactions to ensure the security, stability, recoverability, and access to systems and information.
- Participates in or leads cross-functional initiatives on the development and implementation of enterprise-wide major installations, upgrades, process changes, architecture, change, risk, resiliency, incident, problem, CMDB, and asset management.
- May have accountability for project execution and resource allocation.
- Facilitates knowledge sharing by creating and maintaining detailed, comprehensive documentation and diagrams.
- Tracks industry trends in IAM and stays updated on the latest security threats and solutions.
- Performs systems support activities and may include required participation in an on-call rotation for support of systems outside of normal business hours.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) with a focus on Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, and SSO integration.
- Advanced level knowledge of infrastructure design, implementation, administration, planning, troubleshooting and developing specific to CyberArk.
- Advanced level skills on communication, collaboration and leadership.
- Advanced or specialized understanding of the standards and deliverables to ensure integrity of the systems engineering process.
- Maintains, supports, and ensures the continuous operation of IAM platforms and tools.
- Regularly reviews and refines IAM policies and configurations to ensure optimal security and compliance standards.
- Uses scripting languages like Python and PowerShell for process enhancements and automation.
- Demonstrated expertise in supporting and maintaining IAM tools and technologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to a varied audience.
- Experience collaborating with software developers and understanding of development lifecycle and methodologies.
- Highly skilled at systems, creative, critical and analytical thinking, decision making and problem solving.
- Proven ability in scripting with languages such as Python and PowerShell.
- Strong experience in automating IAM processes and integrating them with other systems.
- Strong human relations skills to effectively interact with peers, leadership, and external partners.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Knowledge of industry-standard IAM methodologies.
- Advanced understanding of various enterprise technologies and architectures.
