Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst with deep expertise in mortgage originations to join our team. This role will bridge business needs with technology solutions, driving process improvements and ensuring delivery of high-quality mortgage origination capabilities. The ideal candidate brings both domain knowledge in mortgage lending and strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation for mortgage origination initiatives (including correspondent lending and wholesale).
    Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to translate business needs into detailed functional requirements and user stories.
  • Analyze existing mortgage origination processes, systems, workflows and recommend enhancements that improve efficiency, compliance, and customer experience.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in mortgage origination platforms (LOS, CRM, pricing engines, underwriting tools).
  • Ensure requirements align with regulatory standards (e.g., MISMO, HMDA).
    Collaborate with QA teams to define test cases and validate solutions against requirements.
    Support change management and training activities to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Business Analyst experience, with at least 4+ years in mortgage originations or financial services.
    Strong knowledge of mortgage origination lifecycle: application, credit, processing, underwriting, closing, and funding.
    Familiarity with industry-leading LOS (e.g., Encompass, Empower, Blend, MeridianLink).
    Familiarity with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae processes.
  • Proven track record working in Agile and Scrum based project environments.
  • Excellent documentation skills: Business Requirement Documents, Functional Requirement Documents, process flows, data mapping, and user stories.
    Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience engaging senior executives, business teams, and technology teams.
    Bachelor s degree in Business, Finance, IT, or related field (MBA or equivalent a plus).
    Professional certifications are also preferred.
