Telecommunications Technician

I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

Texas Department of Criminal Justice requires the services of 2 Telecommunications Technician 3,
hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of Telecommunications Technician
3, Networking/Telecommunications and the specifications outlined in this document for the Texas
Department of Criminal Justice.
All work products resulting from the project shall be considered "works made for hire" and are the property of
the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and may include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors
(and their Candidates) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by Texas law. Texas
Department of Criminal Justice will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process
of selecting a Candidate(s).
Candidates should have knowledge of design video, data, and voice communication systems. They may oversee the installation and
maintenance of these systems, including their repair and testing. Performs complex network work and works under general
supervision with moderate latitude. Proficient in conduit bending and installation. Must be able to understand fiber optic
networking and fiber optic components.
II. CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements
(skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this
opportunity.
Years Required/Preferred Experience
8 Required Telecommunications experience.
8 Required Knowledge of data/voice termination of 568B and have
own telecommunications termination / testing tools.
8 Preferred Telecommunications Data and voice to include fiber optic.
III. ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

All work must be performed with TDCJ hardware only. A laptop and any required peripherals will be provided.
This position may be filled as a remote or hybrid position but may occasionally require the contractor to work on-site. The ITD office
is located at 815 11th St, Huntsville, TX 77340. Advance notice will be given when in-person meetings are required. Meetings may be
at various unit locations across the state. Travel expenses may be covered for fuel and overnight stay at Government rates only.
Overtime rates will not be paid. Hours worked over shall be billed at the regular hourly rate.
Candidate shall be dedicated to the TDCJ and not hold employment other than this position.
