Job Opportunity: Technical / Deskside Support III (Contractor)
Position Type: Temporary/Contract 14 weeks (Open for extension)
Onsite St. Paul, Minnesota
Are you a highly motivated and skilled IT professional with expertise in troubleshooting and supporting complex technical systems? We are seeking a Technical / Deskside Support III contractor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and providing technical support for a wide range of computer-related products and legacy systems. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, customer service skills, and the ability to work autonomously.

We are seeking a Technical / Deskside Support III contractor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and providing technical support for a wide range of computer-related products and legacy systems. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, customer service skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
Key Responsibilities
- Hardware & Software Support: Provide break-fix services and support for PC desktops, laptops, servers, storage systems, peripherals, printers, and networking equipment.
- Call Taking & Troubleshooting: Offer site-specific support and call-taking services to resolve issues efficiently.
- Setup & Maintenance: Install, configure, test, and certify PCs, networks, servers, and client-approved applications.
- Network & Systems Support: Collaborate on network operations and maintenance tasks. Troubleshoot commonly used software, anti-virus systems, and network devices.
- Legacy Systems Support: Maintain and repair legacy products and provide routine maintenance as needed.
- IMAC Services: Perform installations, moves, adds, and changes (IMACs) as required.
- Customer Interaction: Ensure customer satisfaction by providing preventative maintenance advice and maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Escalation & Follow-Up: Escalate unresolved issues as necessary and take ownership of follow-up actions.
- Project Responsibilities: Lead smaller, less complex projects or direct the work of others if needed.
- Documentation & Standards: Ensure alignment with customer-specific internal procedures and service delivery requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Extensive expertise in operating systems, includingMicrosoft,Linux, andUnix.
- Knowledge of network products and ability to provide operational and maintenance support.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues for desktops, laptops, printers, handheld devices, and peripherals.
- In-depth knowledge of servers, storage systems, networking protocols, and associated configurations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (all versions) and other relevant productivity tools.
Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):
- OEM certifications from vendors such as HP, Dell, Toshiba, or IBM.
- Additional certifications such asCOMPTIA A+,Network+,MCP,MCDST, orMCSEare strongly preferred.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of experience in a technical support or deskside support role (required).
- Exposure to document management processes and enterprise-level system environments is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a quality-oriented approach to service delivery.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage tasks in a high-stress environment.
- Commitment to professionalism and maintaining a customer-first focus.
