An Entertainment provider is seeking a skilled and innovative Lead Web Developer to join our Technology team. While we prefer candidates based in Los Angeles, CA or McAllen, TX, we are open to a fully remote arrangement for the right individual. This role offers the opportunity to lead the development, enhancement, and optimization of our digital platforms. Key Responsibilities
<>Web Development & Backend Systems</>
- Build and maintain WordPress websites using custom themes and plugins
- Develop custom WordPress functionality using PHP
- Manage MySQL databases for efficient data storage and retrieval
- Configure and maintain Ubuntu/Nginx servers
- Create front-end features using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Vue.js
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness
- Monitor and optimize site performance, SEO, Core Web Vitals, and accessibility
<>Advertising & Monetization</>
- Integrate and manage advertising solutions using Google Ad Manager and programmatic platforms
- Optimize ad placements for visibility and revenue
- Implement tracking pixels and analytics tools
- Collaborate with marketing teams on sponsored content and branded experiences
<>Mobile & Cross-Platform Development</>
- Ensure seamless integration between web and mobile platforms
- Apply mobile-first development strategies and build Progressive Web Apps (PWAs)
- Manage mobile ad SDKs, push notifications, and authentication APIs
<>Technical & Security Responsibilities</>
- Integrate third-party APIs (social media, advertising, analytics)
- Maintain WordPress security through regular updates and patching
- Implement caching and performance optimization strategies
- Use Git for version control and deployment
- Participate in Agile development workflows
Qualifications & Skills
<>Technical Expertise</>
- Strong PHP (8.3) skills with object-oriented programming principles
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Deep understanding of WordPress (6.7.1) framework
- Experience with MySQL (8) database management
- Ubuntu (24.04)/Nginx server administration
- Familiarity with caching systems like Redis and Memcached
- RESTful and GraphQL API development
- Knowledge of UI/UX design principles
- Experience with analytics platforms, A/B testing, and conversion rate optimization
<>Preferred Qualifications</>
- Minimum 2 years of experience in website monetization
- Proficiency in digital advertising technologies
- Expertise in website security
- Experience implementing social media marketing pixels
- Familiarity with cloud hosting services
- Background in news websites or digital publishing
- Proven mobile-friendly development track record
- Experience in broadcast media, television, radio, or entertainment environments
- Understanding of audience measurement and first-party data platforms
- Knowledge of server-side rendering (Next.js, Nuxt.js) and microservices architecture
- Experience leading distributed or nearshore teams across time zones
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
- Spanish-speaking preferred
