Overview

The Azure Cloud Architect will help design and implement a secure, cloud-based infrastructure to support mission critical operations. The architect will share expertise with the cloud architecture team through leadership and mentoring, as they help the TPOs and other business stakeholders overcome their most difficult challenges in the cloud. Leverages technical expertise and skills in DevSecOps and platform technologies such as Kubernetes while migrating critical systems to a secure cloud environment and ensuring standards are met throughout the cloud migration and application development processes. This is an opportunity to use the latest cloud technologies, as we look for ways to improve our environment using cloud capabilities. As a technical leader, the architect will identify new opportunities to build cloud-based solutions to help meet evolving needs and support corporate multi cloud strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and manage enterprise level Cloud computing strategy and infrastructure to ensure scalable and secure cloud-based solutions across public, private and hybrid cloud platforms
  • Develop architectural documentation and/or artifacts for use in business and technology projects, knowledge transfer, decision support, and product evaluation
  • Develop target architectures ensuring the integration points of end-user technology services and other related services are consistent, scalable, and flexible
  • Collaborate with Cloud engineering team and provide guidance on best practices and standards
  • Develop and apply architectural reference patterns that guide the selection, development, implementation and use of IT within the enterprise
  • Develop, review and enforce enterprise architecture standards for multi cloud strategy
  • Facilitate Cloud architectural governance based on business and IT strategies
  • Develop FinOps strategy to optimize cloud resources and manage cost efficiency
  • Collaborate on architecture reviews to assess the integrity and quality of proposed technical solutions
  • Identify and provide recommendations for the acceptance or mitigation of any issues and risks associated with requirements, proposed solutions, architectural designs, implementation plans and timelines
  • Provide forward-thinking technical expertise and thought leadership in current and emerging cloud technologies, development practices, market trends and best practices

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 5+ years of experience with supporting the architecture and implementation of Azure Cloud solutions at an enterprise level
  • 5+ years of experience with commercial cloud service providers, including Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with Microservices, container-based platforms and related deployment technologies to include Kubernetes, Docker and Serverless Functions
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Crossplane
  • Hands on experience with IaaS, PaaS, Storage, Container technology, etc.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
  • Experience with Linux and Linux scripting
  • Experience with the use of version control systems for code management and artifact tracking, including GitHub or JIRA
  • Significant experience in cloud computing and infrastructure supporting various functional and technical domains across medium to large-scale enterprises in migrating applications to cloud infrastructure
  • Significant experience in communicating technical concepts and practices effectively at all levels, including non-technical audiences, adjusting as needed to a target audience
  • Extensive experience in translating business needs and requirements into comprehensive, useful, and clear architecture designs (e.g., logical architecture, system interaction, etc.) and artifacts
  • Significant experience in performing various forms of analysis including Architectures Fit/Gap analysis, discovery, systems analysis, and business process analysis
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
  • Advanced skill using creative and innovative thinking to create original concepts and approaches for various projects and stakeholders
  • Advanced verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Certification in TOGAF, COBIT, Microsoft AZURE Solution Architect, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), etc.
  • Working knowledge of banking and financial industry standards and practices
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance-related mandates such as CCPA and GDPR
  • Working knowledge of Credit union functions and operations
