Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Life Insurance Operations Technical Analyst to join our team. This role will focus on the development, testing, and maintenance of life insurance illustration platforms, supporting new product launches, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical bckgd, experience with life insurance products, and a passion for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, test, and maintain life insurance illustration models using tools such as VPMS, Excel, and Assure Product Engine.
Collaborate with actuarial, product, and IT teams to ensure illustration calculations are accurate, consistent, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Map complex product structures into the illustration platform, supporting new product launches and system conversions.
Build and validate life and annuity product illustrations in Excel, including creating robust testing frameworks and performing calculation audits.
Script calculation logic using Excel VBA, JavaScript, or similar tools to prototype or troubleshoot illustration outputs.
Document model assumptions, test results, and illustration rules to support audit and business review processes.
Support quality assurance by performing regression and compliance testing for new product launches and updates.
Ensure alignment with industry data standards such as ACORD, where applicable.
Use version control tools (e.g., GIT) for illustration models and testing assets.
Translate business and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable artifacts for development and QA teams.
Own the documentation process: requirements, workflow diagrams, data mapping, and process maps.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to explain requirements, testing results, and system logic to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting life insurance illustrations and operations.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related field.
3+ years of experience with life insurance illustrations, preferably in a modeling, testing, or business analyst capacity.
Strong working knowledge of illustration platforms (VPMS, Assure Product Engine).
Solid actuarial foundation or experience in life/annuity calculations.
Proficiency in Excel-based calculations and scripting (Excel VBA, JavaScript).
Deep understanding of life insurance product structures (Term, UL, IUL, SUL, riders).
Familiarity with regulatory compliance (CVAT, guideline premiums, etc.) in illustration logic.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience with digital product launches, UX journeys, and technical documentation is a plus.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
