Our Apple Professional Services organization provides a strategic differentiation in Apple's direct sales to K-12 and Higher Education institutions across the US. This team works to ensure the successful delivery and deployment of Apple solutions in our customers' classrooms, both through direct engagement and through management and training of our third-party partners. As a Scoping Engineer, you will be responsible for translating the customer's business requirements into specific systems, applications and/or process designs for custom technical solutions. You will analyze trends based on customer requirements, design solutions to meet the customer's objectives, and partner with the greater Professional Services team to identify opportunities for new or revised service offerings. This role balances the needs of the customer and Apple to design a solution that meets or exceeds the requirements of service delivery.
Description As an Apple Professional Services Scoping Engineer, you will be part of a larger delivery organization that is specifically responsible for the implementation architecture, installation, configuration, and integration of Apple products to enhance teaching and learning. You will be assigned to a specific sales team and will work side-by-side with sales in a coaching and mentoring capacity to support Mac and iPad deployments. In this position, you will: - Manage every aspect of scoping responses and drive best in class statement of work responses - Ensure the alignment of technical solutions with established standards and business objectives - Partner closely with technical teams within our division and across the company to support the technical solution - Collaborate with Apple Project Management to ensure quality on all Apple Professional Services engagements delivered by third-party providers - Maintain a deep expertise in scoping solutions and all technology associated with your role- Recommend solutions that encompass process, technology, project and staffing plans (workflow documentation) - Develop and communicate risk assessments and corresponding remediation plans relative to custom solution proposals - Create applicable services agreements (SOW) that specify processes, technology, staffing, deliverables, commitments, risk, and project management aspects of the proposed solution - Play a support role in customer deal negotiation and closure to include transition support to service delivery - Serve as a services subject matter expert to both internal and external customers and act with a sense of urgency when needed - Use experience, innovation, and judgment to make decisions that may be based on partial information - Follow all organizational standard operating procedures relative to cost modeling, approval, reviews, and all other associated workflow, documentation and deliverables

Minimum Qualifications
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Background as a scoping engineer, solution architect, and/or program/project manager focused on large, multi-site customer deployments
- Experience constructing complex solutions in the services market (e.g., solutions including hardware, software, MDM, deployment services)
- Broad knowledge of Apple products including iOS, MacOS, MacOS Server, services-related processes, and all supporting technologies
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills with the flexibility to adapt to various technical and non-technical audiences
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Expert attention to detail and organizational skills
- Deep expertise in systems integration, services and component design, and solutions modeling
- In-depth knowledge of assessing operational risk, cost drivers, and impacts to service delivery
- Experience collaborating with third-party providers, managing those relationships, and negotiating the best pricing/cost to improve customer experience
- Passion for continuous improvement with the curiosity to uncover gaps, resilience to manage ambiguity, and drive to optimize processes and create solutions
- Excellent collaboration and relationship building skills with the ability to quickly establish trust, credibility, and influence across a variety of cross-functional and multi-directional partners
- Ability to collaborate, lead, and contribute to a team; Focused on overall project productivity
