Position Overview
The Senior Back-End Software Development Engineer will be part of a core engineering team responsible for delivering scalable web and eCommerce solutions supporting global digital customer experiences. The role focuses on designing and developing microservices using Java and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) technologies within a high-performing Agile environment.
This position also involves providing technical leadership to developers and influencing architecture and design decisions for next-generation digital commerce systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement scalable microservices using Java and modern cloud technologies.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, DevOps, and QA teams to build robust and maintainable backend services.
Write high-quality, reusable, testable code aligned with industry best practices.
Lead other developers and actively participate in code reviews to ensure software quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues with minimal oversight.
Contribute to product design, architecture discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
15+ years of software development experience.
Expert-level Java with hands-on experience in advanced concepts and open-source technologies.
Strong microservices development experience using Java and Spring frameworks.
Spring Boot and Spring Cloud expertise.
Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) hands-on experience, including:
Cloud Run
Cloud Data Fusion
Apigee
Cloud Pub/Sub
Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
Database Skills:
SQL (Cloud SQL)
NoSQL (Bigtable, BigQuery)
Unit Testing: JUnit, TestNG
DevOps Tools: Jenkins, Tekton or similar CI/CD tools.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
