macOS Desktop Engineer

Role: macOS Desktop Engineer
Location: Downers Grove, IL (Onsite, 5 days/week)
Duration: 6 months contract

Overview:
We are seeking a macOS Desktop Engineer to support the buildout and expansion of our enterprise macOS environment. This role will be key in establishing macOS as a fully supported platform alongside Windows. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in macOS administration, Microsoft Intune, and scripting for automation and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Tier 2/3 support for macOS devices.
• Manage macOS devices via Microsoft Intune (configuration profiles, compliance policies, app deployment, custom scripting).
• Develop onboarding workflows with Apple Business Manager and Automated Device Enrolment (ADE).
• Collaborate with Workstation Management and Helpdesk teams for deployment and support.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Support Helpdesk escalations and assist in training support staff.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of macOS enterprise support experience.
• Hands-on experience with Intune for macOS management.
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with Apple Business Manager and MDM enrolment workflows.
• Solid understanding of macOS architecture, security, and user management.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Azure AD and conditional access.
• Background in enterprise software deployment and patching.
• Documentation and knowledge-sharing skills.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP)
• Microsoft Certified: Intune Specialist or Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
