Job Details
We are seeking a Senior Storage Systems Engineer with hands-on experience in administering and supporting SAN and NAS storage systems. The role involves managing storage infrastructure, performing provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting data protection, disaster recovery, and migrations. Experience with enterprise platforms like NetApp and Pure Storage, along with strong documentation and security best practices, is essential.
Position Responsibilities;
- Maintain and support enterprise data storage systems, ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) readiness.
- Design and manage a secure, intelligent storage infrastructure, including deployment, configuration, and administration.
- Develop and execute test plans, proof of concepts (POCs), and validations; document results and completion reports.
- Configure and support data protection, DR, and data migration solutions for enterprise applications and servers; participate in BCDR events, including failover/failback
- Deploy and monitor tools to ensure optimal operation of NetApp and Pure SAN/NAS storage systems; integrate third-party software.
- Identify and resolve security threats by analyzing system alerts, logs, and events; proactively address vulnerabilities and risks.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation: SOPs, After Action Reports, status updates, baseline changes, and configuration management plans; ensure adherence to change management processes.
- Conduct performance and capacity planning, including trend analysis; prepare technical reports and executive presentations.
Position Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in SAN and NAS storage architecture, design, administration, and support.
- Expertise in enterprise-grade NetApp storage systems and Cisco MDS SAN switches; additional experience with platforms like Pure Storage is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft File NAS, including NTFS permissions, ACLs, and Active Directory integration.
- Proficient in storage provisioning, zoning, reclamation, and share/file storage implementation and operations.
- Skilled in cloud storage integration (AWS S3, Azure), including tiering from on-prem systems and hybrid connectivity.
- Experienced with Cisco MDS 9000 SAN switches, Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller, Fabric Manager, and Device Manager.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust security principles, system hardening, data classification, alerting, auditing, and access management.
- Experience with cloud storage solutions including AWS FSxN, BlueXP, Trident, and other NetApp tools.
- Strong background in data protection and replication (snapshots, active/metro clusters, On-prem to Cloud DR).
- Deep understanding of Fiber Channel SAN and NAS protocols: NVMe-oF, NVMeTCP, FC, FCoE, iSCSI, Object, and File storage.
- Familiar with VMware (vSphere, vCenter, ESX clusters), OpenShift, and Windows/Linux HBA multipathing to storage.
- Experience with Commvault, IntelliSnap, and other backup/recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, persistent storage, PV/PVCs, CSI, and storage classes for containerized workloads.
- Scripting and automation using AI tools, PowerShell, Ansible, Shell scripting, and workflow automation.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field; 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Certifications in storage technologies are a plus.
