Job Title: Senior Product Owner Guilds & Contract Management (Media/Entertainment)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Owner with deep knowledge of entertainment industry workflows, specifically around Guild contract compliance (SAG-AFTRA, WGA, DGA, IATSE) and media production operations. This role is central to driving the development and optimization of tools and systems that support the complex regulatory, financial, and legal requirements of union and guild partnerships.
You ll work cross-functionally with Legal, Business Affairs, Labor Relations, Finance, and Production teams to define and deliver products that streamline contract lifecycle management, ensure compliance with union obligations, and enable scalable, automated workflows across media productions.
Key Responsibilities
Own the product strategy and roadmap for systems that manage Guild and Union contract workflows, compliance tracking, and payment schedules.
Act as the key liaison between Product, Legal, Labor Relations, and Production Finance to gather requirements and translate them into actionable development tasks.
Lead the design and implementation of tools for:
Talent and crew deal management
Residuals tracking
Timecard & payroll compliance
Union/guild reporting and audit prep
Prioritize product backlog and manage Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
Drive integration and automation with third-party systems (e.g., payroll vendors, scheduling tools, finance platforms).
Identify and resolve bottlenecks in production workflows, ensuring accurate and timely compliance with guild and legal obligations.
Analyze contract clauses and guild rule changes to update systems accordingly.
Partner with engineering, QA, and design teams to deliver high-quality features that meet stakeholder needs and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in media, entertainment, or technology.
Strong understanding of entertainment union/guild contracts, especially SAG-AFTRA, WGA, DGA, and IATSE.
Experience building or managing contract management, labor compliance, or residuals tracking systems.
Comfortable working in Agile environments; skilled in backlog grooming, writing user stories, and sprint planning.
Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments with competing priorities.
Familiarity with legal terminology and contract lifecycle management tools (e.g., DocuSign CLM, Ironclad, Salesforce Legal).
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a studio, network, streaming platform, or large production company.
Experience integrating tools like Scenechronize, Media Services, EP, SAP, Workday, Airtable, or custom internal CMS platforms.
Knowledge of residuals calculation processes, guild reporting rules, or related audit processes.
Understanding of rights management, talent agreements, and intellectual property licensing.
