Job Details
Position Description:
- Support the development and implementation of improvements in the automation of mainframe batch JCL generation and job scheduling, achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts in the field. The candidate will continually assess advancements in technologies to gauge and recommend better solutions for the customer to improve efficiency and further streamline processes.
- Develop software code and JCL using customer defined standards and software engineering best practices.
- Analyze root causes for batch job failures, take appropriate corrective steps to resolve issues in a timely fashion, and share findings with the team.
- Attend all customer technical discussions/design/development meetings and provide technical inputs to further enhance the code quality/process.
- Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written or oral skills at an appropriate technical level for the audience.
- Provide guidance/support to other junior/mid-level developers, participate in knowledge sharing sessions.
- Impact functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards, or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace.
- Prepare or update documentation as needed.
- Actively participate in peer reviews of project artifacts.
- All other duties as assigned or directed.
Skills Requirements:
Foundation For Success (Basic Qualifications)
- Master's degree and 2+ years of related work experience or bachelor's degree and 4+ years of work experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.
*** Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.

- Experienced Developer in JCL, mainframe utilities, and/languages.

- Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies including Java and/or Python.
Education:
