Summary:
The IT Support Technician provides daily technical support to both on-site and remote employees, assisting with hardware, software, and networking issues on laptops and mobile devices. This role also supports the IT asset lifecycle, including imaging, configuring, and upgrading systems. The technician will manage equipment logistics at the Austin, TX office and assist with IT operations and system rollouts.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and software for local and remote users
- Support IT asset lifecycle tasks including new hire setups, system imaging, and equipment refreshes
- Handle hardware and software installations and assist with company-wide IT rollouts
- Maintain system security, including password management and data integrity
- Oversee laptop and accessory distribution at the Austin office (inventory, asset tracking, shipping/receiving)
- Coordinate the retirement and secure disposal of IT assets
- Develop and document standard operating procedures and user guides
- Participate in testing and evaluation of new software and hardware, offering detailed feedback
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support network equipment, phone systems, and teleconferencing tools
- Collaborate with other IT teams on hardware/software projects
- Assist with data center and server room operations
Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Proficiency with both Windows and macOS
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel and SharePoint experience a plus
- Familiarity with mobile platforms (iOS and Android)
- Solid understanding of PC hardware and efficient troubleshooting methods
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical users
- Skilled in developing and delivering training sessions for end users
- Strong multitasking ability and adaptability to changing priorities
- High level of accountability and self-motivation to manage tasks independently
