Technical Architect IV Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Technical Architect for a contract position in Richfield, MN. The opportunity will be a year with a strong chance for a long-term extension. Position Summary:
The Retail Warehousing (RSS) squad is the conduit for delivering end-user inventory management capabilities and innovations to locations. Our mission is to create scalable solutions that:

The RSS application is designed with a cross-platform approach a single build that seamlessly adapts to both large and small views. We are currently on an ambitious modernization journey that includes:
- Decoupling from legacy monolith systems
- Migrating to Cloud/AWS for scalability, security, and resilience
- Revamping the end-to-end user experience to improve usability and efficiency
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to transforming the backbone of retail inventory operations while working with modern cloud technologies and design practices. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
As part of the Digital, Analytics, and Technology team, the Tech Lead will:
- Design and Develop Solutions
- Lead the design and implementation of custom applications, integrations, and cloud-based services.
- Define and execute technology solutions that align with enterprise timelines and strategic objectives.
- Write specifications for customizations, system integrations, and data migrations.
- Drive Modernization and Innovation
- Guide the application s journey from monolithic systems to cloud-native (AWS) architectures.
- Champion cross-platform development approaches that work seamlessly across large and small views.
- Ensure long-term system reliability, scalability, and supportability.
- Leadership and Mentorship
- Mentor and coach team members, fostering growth and strong engineering practices.
- Influence other technical leads, engineers, product partners, and managers to align on technical strategies.
- Act as a key decision-maker on architecture and design choices.
- Collaboration and Execution
- Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to deliver solutions that meet critical business needs.
- Contribute to high-priority, strategic initiatives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Ensure deliverables meet both technical and business expectations.
Qualifications:
- 8 years of software engineering experience, with 2 years in a Tech Lead or equivalent role.
- Hands-on experience with custom application development, integration technologies, and cloud migration (AWS preferred).
- Strong expertise in modern programming languages/frameworks (e.g., Java, React JS and React Native, database Aurora / NoSQL or similar).
- Proven ability to design scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Supply Chain applications a plus.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Preferred:
- Prior experience leading modernization efforts (monolith decoupling, cloud-native transformations, UX revamps).
- Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence cross-functional partners.
