Job Summary

The IT Manager at Vandalia Health will play a pivotal role in managing, leading, and collaborating with a diverse team of IT professionals, both on-site and remotely. The responsibilities include overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of healthcare IT systems to support Vandalia Health's operational efficiency and support quality outcomes. The IT Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring IT solutions align with healthcare objectives, leading projects, and serving as an escalation point for complex issues. Their leadership is crucial for mentoring and developing team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations in a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee and support daily operations for a team of IT professionals. Collaborate with IT Leadership, vendors, and external partners to evaluate and implement technologies aligned with priorities and standards, ensuring compliance with relevant healthcare IT policies and procedures.

2. Oversees design, implementation, and maintenance of healthcare IT Systems.

3. Ensures IT Solutions align with healthcare objectives, leading projects.

5. Manage and maintain within the budget for assigned areas, allocate funds, and prepare budget based on business objectives.

6. Effectively and efficiently manage the PR/PO process, as well as vendor negotiations and invoice approval.

7. Contributes to strategic organizational initiatives. Supports and accountable for aligning organizational strategies and goals.

8. Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and departmental standards for staff development, training, and orientations.

9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT solutions with business needs.

10. Manage incidents, service requests, "run and maintain," and projects with a focus on timely delivery and quality standards.

11. Serve as an escalation point for complex IT issues, efficiently troubleshooting and resolving problems.

12. Exhibits creativity and innovation. Promote an environment that fosters a collaborative and learning-focused culture.

13. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, making informed recommendations for Vandalia Health's IT impact.

14. Adhere to and promote the organization's cybersecurity policies and industry best practices in performing job duties.

15. Manage and maintain call schedules.

16. Proactively identify potential challenges and barriers.

17. On call as required, available to support as needed, undertake any other duties as assigned.

18. Support the designated IT leader by analyzing team performance against published SLAs and ensuring standards are met.

19. Initiate and lead the contract review process, actively participating in negotiations with vendors.

20. Resolve resource management/allocation conflicts.

21. Effectively communicate based on the audience and their level of understanding, including propagation of key messages to internal team members.

22. Manage personnel lifecycle, encompassing interviews, hires, and training for new employees. Additionally, conduct annual performance reviews, set SMART goals, and provide constructive feedback. Implement performance improvement plans, including progressive disciplinary actions as necessary.

23. Skillfully and effectively facilitate team and business owner meetings, delivering well-organized presentations. Communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully and discreetly.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact) The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients. Competency Statement Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist. Perform related duties as assigned.

Education
Bachelor's Degree (Required) Minimum of 3 years' experience with direct management responsibilities in the IT related field and a minimum of 4 years of expert or technical knowledge in the respective area. Healthcare IT experience preferred.
