Job Title: Product Analyst Marketing Data, Automation & Analytics (Digital and Marketing Product, Commercial Technologies)

Location: Alameda, CA (5 days a week at onsite mandatory)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Summary:

We are seeking a Techno-Functional Business Analyst / Product Analyst to support our Commercial and Medical Digital & Marketing Product Line at a leading biotech company. This individual will be the critical link between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, enabling the successful delivery of marketing automation and data and analytics initiatives.

This role requires a unique blend of business acumen, data fluency, and technical know-how to support platforms including Salesforce (Core and Marketing Cloud), Census, Redshift, Tableau, Google Analytics, and ad platforms (Google, Meta, Bing, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, etc.). The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator who can translate business needs into actionable requirements, and guide solution design and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Elicitation & Analysis: Gathers, analyzes, and documents detailed business requirements from stakeholders, translating them into clear and actionable functional and non-functional specifications for development teams.
  • Solution Design & Proposal: Collaborates with technical teams to propose and design technology-driven solutions that effectively address business problems and needs, demonstrating a strong appreciation for how technology can be applied.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serves as a key liaison between business users, product owners, and development teams, ensuring clear communication and mutual understanding throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Process Optimization: Analyzes existing business processes, identifies inefficiencies, and recommends improvements to streamline operations and enhance overall effectiveness.
  • User Story & Acceptance Criteria Definition: Creates well-defined user stories and comprehensive acceptance criteria to guide development and testing efforts.
  • Test Strategy & Planning: Develops test strategies, detailed test plans, and robust test cases to ensure the quality and integrity of the product solutions.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing: Executes various types of testing (e.g., functional, integration, regression, UAT support) to validate that solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
  • Defect Management: Identifies, documents, prioritizes, and tracks defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution and retesting.
  • Product Backlog Support: Supports the product owner in refining and prioritizing the product backlog, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and ready for development.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Maintains clear and concise documentation of requirements, test plans, and system functionalities to facilitate knowledge transfer and future enhancements.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define data needs for audience segmentation and omni-channel journey strategies, leveraging marketing data products, Census for segmentation and activation to Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other marketing destinations.
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of automated marketing journeys across channels (email, advertising, direct mail, web, etc.).
  • Support data requirements for building and maintaining Redshift-based marketing data products, ensuring alignment with downstream tools like Census and Salesforce Marketing Cloud for tactic execution and Tableau and for domain specific analytics.
  • Assist with campaign performance reporting, KPI tracking, and dashboard development requirements in Tableau.
  • Ensure data accuracy, governance, and consistency across marketing data platforms.
  • Provide training, documentation, and ongoing support to marketing users and business partners.
  • Lead demos, solution testing, user acceptance testing, and business facing interactions from requirements gathering to delivery and operation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or related role in a digital marketing or Martech environment.
  • Experience in biotech, life sciences, or healthcare industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing technology platforms, including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Census, GA4, and Redshift.
  • Familiarity with SQL and ability to work with data teams on data mapping, transformation, and validation.
  • Proven experience translating complex business needs into clear, concise user stories, data requirements, and functional specs.
  • Strong understanding of marketing analytics KPIs, segmentation strategies, and campaign measurement.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
  • Highly proactive, organized, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with marketing data pipelines and modern data stacks.
  • Familiarity with CDP (Customer Data Platform) concepts.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and compliance considerations in healthcare marketing (e.g., HIPAA, opt-in/opt-out management).
  • Agile/Scrum experience and familiarity with product management practices.

The salary range provided for this contract role represents our good faith estimate for this position. Within the range, individual offers will vary based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, location and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process (W2 or C2C).
