Job Description
This job is a Hybrid position, spending 50% of their time working out of BAE Systems' 65 River Road Location.

The Cloud Datacenter IT Admin will play a crucial role in managing and supporting our Virtual Cloud Computing Center (VC3). The role requires someone with a deep understanding of datacenter management, automation, cloud services and incident response to ensure system reliability, scalability and optimum performance. The Cloud Datacenter IT Admin will work closely with the Platform Engineering Group to ensure all services meet the needs of tenants and are delivered in an efficient, automated, and secure manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in service improvement initiatives, including identifying opportunities for service optimization and cost reduction
  • Collaborate with the Platform Engineering Group to optimize system performance, scalability and reliability
  • Deploy and maintain a reliable infrastructure to support the Platform IaaS, PaaS ,and SaaS Services
  • Administer cloud datacenter infrastructure, including servers, storage and network operations
  • Implement robust infrastructure standards and best practices
  • Work closely with team and vendors for efficient procurement, maintenance, and decommissioning of datacenter hardware
  • Monitor system health proactively, identify potential issues and provide effective solutions promptly
  • Prepare and maintain thorough documentation of system configurations, operational processes and network diagrams
  • Automate routine operations and tasks through automation tools and scripting
  • Incident Response
  • Actively participate in incident response and root-cause analysis, support a blameless post-mortems culture
  • Work with the Platform Engineering team to develop and implement plans for restoring service in the event of an outage
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Must be able to obtain a Security+ or equivalent security certification within 6 months of starting
  • Proven experience managing large-scale server infrastructure including hardware, operation systems, networks and data center operations
  • Strong understanding of cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) including virtualization
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Powershell, Ansible for automation
  • Strong understanding of network architecture
  • Familiarity with security and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Strong understanding of service lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with monitoring and analytics tools

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Security + or equivalent certification
  • Relevant professional certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associated, etc
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes is a plus

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $112420 - $191070

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
