Salary: Up to $90k per year depending on experience



Shift: Monday-Friday, 8 am- 5 pm

The Development Engineer will work closely with the engineering team to design, develop, and qualify batteries based on customer specifications and documentation. The role involves research and development into parts, materials, and assembly techniques, as well as executing and delivering both new and existing products within project timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead all development phases, including design, prototyping, validation, and pilot production

  • Prepare and present internal and customer-facing design reviews (preliminary and critical)

  • Plan, develop, and execute Design of Experiment (DOE) for battery fabrication and testing

  • Collaborate with the engineering team on battery design and mechanical characteristics

  • Develop processes and tooling for pilot-scale manufacturing

  • Coordinate and execute product development trials

  • Summarize, present, and provide conclusions and recommendations based on results

  • Create assembly and process specifications, along with other engineering documentation

  • Perform root cause analysis


Qualifications:


  • BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in R&D or product development

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to contribute to a collaborative team environment

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks

  • Familiarity with contract data requirements list (CDRL)
