Position: IT Desktop Support Technician

Duration: 6 months

Location: Phoenix, AZ ( Hybrid)

 

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for supporting mobile and end-user devices for core business systems and requires an experienced IT professional who can work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Phoenix area prior to the start date.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 2 support for desktop and mobility issues.
  • Manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) environments (e.g., Intune, Workspace One).
  • Deploy business and office productivity apps; manage OS updates.
  • Track and reconcile monthly records for cellular lines and device usage.
  • Maintain and manage mobile device lifecycle and inventory (95%+ accuracy).
  • Respond to help desk tickets and assist end-users directly.
  • Update/create documentation for support processes and common issues.
  • Maintain and update workstation/laptop images and manage image servers.
  • Support patching using Tanium and manage security/cumulative updates.
  • Assist in the management of Mac devices in the environment.
  • Work on Windows 11 rollout and updates in compliance with city standards.
  • Generate inventory reports and push application updates via Tanium.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in system infrastructure or software support.
  • 15 college credit hours in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience working varied shifts to support 24x7 operations.
  • Ability to pass federal background and security checks.
  • Strong communication skills for interfacing with City and airline staff.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Valid Arizona driver s license with clean record.
  • Accurate color perception required for electrical safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience supporting 200+ users, 2000+ computers, and 800+ mobile devices.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow helpdesk/ticketing system.
  • Experience in Intune and Workspace One MDM solutions.
  • Ability to draft technical documentation, project plans, and training material.

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Beacon Systems Inc depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, BeaconGov provides reasonable range of compensation for this role.
