Application Architecture Leader

Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Application Architecture Leader for our Data Ecosystem. The chosen candidate will lead a team of 6-8 talented application architects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of enterprise architecture principles, cloud technologies, and data engineering practices. This role will be instrumental in shaping and executing our data ecosystem strategy, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of application architects.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Architecture Strategy:
  • Define and evolve the application architecture strategy for the data ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to align architecture decisions with strategic objectives.
  • Identify and assess emerging technologies and their potential impact on the data ecosystem.
• Design and Implementation:
  • Oversee the design and implementation of complex data applications, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and best practices.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and other technical teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
  • Ensure that applications are designed for performance, reliability, and security.
• Cloud Adoption:
  • Drive the adoption of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) to modernize the data ecosystem.
  • Define and implement cloud migration strategies, ensuring seamless transition and optimal performance.
• Governance and Standards:
  • Establish and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular architecture reviews to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of quality and excellence in application development and maintenance.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years experience as an Application Architecture Leader or similar role.
• 3+ years experience in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and data engineering principles.
• 7+ years experience with data integration, data warehousing, and data lakes.
• 5+ years management experience and ability to lead and mentor a team of talented architects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with data governance and data quality initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts.
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
