Network Engineer

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security. This role requires a deep understanding of network protocols and technologies, as well as the ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage network solutions including LAN, WAN, and VPN configurations.
• Monitor network performance using tools such as Solarwinds to ensure uptime and reliability.
• Configure and maintain firewalls to protect the network from unauthorized access.
• Troubleshoot DNS issues and optimize DNS performance.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and ability to walk through communication flows in extensive detail
• Passion and demonstrated experience in identifying innovative approaches to using new or existing technologies to meet current and future business needs
• Extensive experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and peers
• Strong understanding of WAN technologies including SDWAN, satellite, cellular, and broadband connectivity
• Deep knowledge and experience with network financials and billing
• Ability to work with end users and IT staff to define network requirements for IT systems user experience
• Experience troubleshooting Networking infrastructure and components, IT systems, and cloud environments
• Eagerness and willingness to pursue continual education to foster personal growth
• Extensive experience in helping people communicate through enterprise scale network and network security environments with a focus on SDWAN, and hybrid multi-cloud environment routing and switching, as well as Palo Alto, and F5 security tools.
• Strong experience with routing and switching (BGP, OSPF), network access control, L2/3 overlays (EVPN, VXLAN, ACI, OTV), hybrid multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform), B2B and remote access VPNs, RF environments, RTLS technologies (BLE, UWB), and disaster recovery environments.
• Understanding of servers, storage, and storage networking
• Experience with integrations with various other IT systems (through API or specific integrations).
• Document network configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.

Skills

• Proficiency in firewall configuration and management.
• Strong understanding of DNS management and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience with VPN technologies for secure remote access.
• Minimum of 4 years experience with advanced IT Routing and Switching
• Minimum of 4 years experience and knowledge of TCP/IP
• Minimum of 4 years experience implementing and troubleshooting broadband cable and DSL, as well as traditional telecommunication services
• Must have advanced experience with working with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or other industry firewall / routing devices
• Must have advanced experience with IP Routing and Switching Configurations from administrative level.
• Must have experience with BGP, and VPN
• Must possess Security+, CCNA, or other equivalent industry certification and pursuing CCNP, CISSP or other equivalent industry certifications.
