Step into the role of Compliance Specialist and play a key part in driving compliance for an innovative Environmental Program, with a special focus on wastewater and air. Responsibilities:
- Review regulatory wastewater discharge requirements for both federal and local environmental regulations.
- Conduct assessments of chemicals, processes, tools, and equipment for environmental impacts and regulatory applicability.
- Support environmental permitting and regulatory programmatic implementation for new processes and buildings from construction through operations.
- Prepare wastewater permit applications, regulatory reports, and supporting documentation, as directed by the Environmental Manager.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections in program areas, including air, wastewater, stormwater, waste, and hazardous materials. This would include daily walkthroughs and monthly/quarterly inspections of offices, labs, and technical spaces for compliance assurance.
- Draft environmental management plans, e.g., Solvent Management Plan (SMP), operating procedures, and training materials.
- Perform technical review on behalf of the owner of contractor submittals and work plans for environmental aspects during construction.
- Participate in project meetings as needed.
- Prepare and submit required environmental metrics and reports to the EHS.
- Audit environmental programs to ensure environmental compliance with the standards and federal, state, and local requirements.
- Compile, manage, and retain environmental documents by EHS requirements.
- Partner with various departments, including researchers, facilities, security, and Global EHS to implement FRL environmental directives and standards.
- Maintain and monitor EHS software applications related to entering and managing current tasks, events, permits, reporting metrics, and waste management activities
- Support preparation and review of Hazardous Materials Business Plan ("HMBP")/Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-know Act ("EPCRA") inventory
- Support the development and review of above-ground Petroleum Storage Act ("APSA")/Spill prevention, control, and countermeasure ("SPCC") plans.
Basic Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of Environmental Compliance experience with implementing and managing environmental programs.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations on industrial wastewater effluent discharge permitting and compliance.
- Additional knowledge of general environmental regulations, including but not limited to air emissions management, stormwater, hazardous chemicals, and materials management, is preferred.
- Ability to support environmental audits and air inspections.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work independently.
- B.S/B.A. degree in relevant field: Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent

Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in OP monthly team meetings, and participate in team-building efforts.
- Contribute to OP technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
- Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
- Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
