Summary
The IT Manager, Validation leads Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering across application development, data engineering, business intelligence, enterprise planning tools, and low-code platforms. This role defines testing strategy, builds standards and automation frameworks, guides a dedicated QA/QE team, and ensures reliable systems, accurate data, and smooth releases across the technology landscape.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the enterprise QA/QE strategy across applications, data, and analytics.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing quality team.
  • Standardize test frameworks for unit, API, UI, and end-to-end testing.
  • Establish data-quality validation for pipelines, integrations, warehouses, and BI models.
  • Govern BI testing for datasets, semantic models, DAX, security, and report behavior.
  • Oversee testing for enterprise planning tools, operational systems, and Power Platform solutions.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and enforce quality gates.
  • Drive non-functional testing (performance, accessibility, resilience).
  • Manage UAT, release readiness, defect triage, and quality reporting.
  • Publish KPIs and insights on quality trends and system reliability.
  • Oversee QA tooling, vendor partnerships, and budgets.
  • Track emerging testing technologies and introduce improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of QA/QE experience in enterprise software or data platforms.
  • 4+ years leading QA/QE teams.
  • Strong hands-on background in automation across application and data/BI layers within CI/CD environments.
  • Proven experience validating data pipelines, warehouses, BI models/reports, and Power BI.
  • Experience testing enterprise planning tools and Power Platform solutions.
  • Proficiency with performance testing, accessibility, SQL, and test data management.
  • Skilled in vendor management and test management tools.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional leadership abilities.
Bonus Skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or advanced BI governance.
  • Knowledge of data-quality frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations, dbt tests).
  • Testing experience in financial planning or supply chain systems.
  • Relevant certifications in QA, cloud, or Agile.
