Full Stack Java Developer

Job Title: Full Stack Engineer (Angular/Java/AWS)
Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid - Onsite 3 Days/Week)
Type: Long-Term Contract
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Engineer (10+ years) with a strong emphasis on UI development using Angular (v17+) and robust backend experience in Java and AWS. This is a long-term contract opportunity based in Reston, VA, requiring on-site presence three days per week. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in complex environments and is comfortable navigating large-scale systems with high data volumes.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack applications with a focus on Angular-based UI and Java backend.
• Build and optimize batch processing solutions using Spring Batch.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Leverage AWS services including ECS, Lambda, AWS Batch, S3, SQS/SNS, EC2, Oracle RDS, and Aurora Postgres.
• Write complex SQL queries and perform database optimization.
• Implement unit testing and test automation strategies.
• Participate in CI/CD processes using Jenkins, GitLab, Maven, Gradle, and Terraform.
• Analyze and enhance performance of applications handling large data volumes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute as an independent problem solver.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in full stack development.
• Proficiency in Angular 17+, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Strong backend development skills using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Hibernate.
• Hands-on experience with a wide range of AWS services.
• Expertise in SQL and relational databases.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
• Experience with batch processing and performance tuning for large-scale systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in financial, healthcare, or other data-intensive industries.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $85.00/hr.
