Who We Are:The Intelligent Systems Division develops automated solutions for commercial and government clients in multiple domains including transportation (traffic management, connected automated vehicle), manufacturing robotics, medical prognostics, and communication standards.
Objectives of this Role: - The Embedded Systems (ES) group has an opportunity for a student intern to join and grow with our team.
- Applying Theory to Practice: Apply your passion for embedded systems and testing to solve problems to address project goals and requirements.
- Work with small teams to develop and test high reliability embedded systems, software, and instrumentation for aerospace projects.
- Development is typically in Python, C, and/or some assembly on Windows, Linux, or custom operating systems.
- Interest in understanding formal secure software development processes applies.
- Exposure to graphical programming (LabVIEW) and lab instrumentation.
- Year-round or Summer 2026 internship position.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: - Work independently on small teams developing software for aerospace applications/instrumentation.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers on software design and code reviews.
- Develop software and test scripts that aid in application integration, verification, and validation testing phases.
- Contribute to technical reports explaining developed solutions.

Requirements: - Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related degree fields.
- 0-2 years: Must have at least 90 hours of college credit completed. Program should contain, at minimum, concentration in the following foundational software areas: algorithms (numerical methods), computer architecture, logic & computation, and advanced mathematics.
- 0-2 years: Educational background and experience with programming and scripting (e.g., Python, C, and some Assembly), and software development life-cycle (design, develop, implementation, debug, and testing). Prior exposure to LabVIEW is preferred.
- 0-2 years: Experience or interest in learning: software version control systems such as Git, computer architecture (i.e. 8051, SPARC, ARM, and/or PowerPC is a plus), debugging, performance optimization and unit testing.
- Knowledge of or interest in learning applying machine learning techniques in embedded systems is a plus.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
