About the Project:
We're building a next-generation digital ecosystem that will transform how millions of users discover, plan, and access recreational experiences. This large-scale platform will include multiple public-facing websites, mobile applications, business management tools, and integrated systems serving 10-15 million transactions annually with millions of concurrent users.
Role Overview:
We're seeking an experienced Drupal developer to play a critical role in architecting and building a world-class content management system that powers multiple digital properties. You'll work on a fast-paced, agile team delivering a complex, mission-critical platform with ambitious timelines and high visibility.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and develop a canonical CMS using the latest Drupal platform to support multiple websites and digital properties

  • Build modular, extensible, and scalable Drupal solutions that can handle millions of users and high concurrency

  • Develop and maintain APIs and integration points with CRM systems, payment gateways, mapping systems, and other enterprise platforms

  • Implement content models and design systems that ensure consistency across multiple digital touchpoints

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UX designers, frontend developers, and product managers

  • Ensure all development follows digital best practices and modern web standards

  • Contribute to open-source repositories and leverage open-source code, data, schemas, and standards

  • Participate in rapid iterative development cycles with bi-weekly sprint deliverables

  • Support integration with payment processing systems and user identity/authentication platforms

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional Drupal development experience, with deep expertise in Drupal 9/10/11

  • Strong understanding of Drupal architecture, including custom module development, theming, and API integrations

  • Proven experience building large-scale, high-traffic Drupal applications

  • Expertise in cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle)

  • Strong knowledge of modern PHP, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and web service APIs (REST/GraphQL)

  • Experience with headless/decoupled Drupal architectures

  • Proficiency with version control (Git/GitHub) and collaborative development workflows

  • Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing

  • Experience with agile/scrum methodologies and rapid iterative development

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-site Drupal architectures

  • Knowledge of CRM platforms and integrations (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)

  • Experience with payment gateway integrations

  • Familiarity with mobile app backend development and APIs

  • Experience building government or public sector digital services

  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and Section 508 compliance

  • Experience with mapping systems and geospatial data

  • Knowledge of reservation/booking systems or e-commerce platforms

  • Contributions to Drupal community or open-source projects

  • Experience with design systems and component libraries
