NoSQL Cassandra/DocumentDB/MongoDB Atlas Architect

Remote role

Competency C5/C6

13+ years of IT experience and minimum of 5+ years of experience on Managing Cassandra/ and migrating Cassandra, Azure DocumentDB (formerly vCore-based Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB) & MongoDB workloads to Azure. Willing to provide 24x7 support, flexible to work in the shifts

Primary skills:

Cassandra

  • Design and implement a scalable and reliable Cassandra database architecture in the Azure cloud environment including Azure Managed Instance for Apache Cassandra
  • Keyspace/table scheme management using tools usage node-tool, CQLSH etc.
  • Migrating Cassandra environment to Azure using Dual-write proxy, Apache Spark etc. methods

Azure DocumentDB

  • Design & implement a scalable architecture for migrating existing MongoDB customer environments to Azure DocumentDB (formerly vCore-based Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB)
  • Migrating MongoDB VM, MongoDB Atlas & AWS DocumentDB to Azure using Web App Utility/Azure DocumentDB Migration Extension in VS code/Native tools

MongoDB Atlas on Azure

  • Design & implement a scalable architecture for migrating existing MongoDB customer environments to MongoDB Atlas on Azure
  • MongoDB migration using mongosync, Live Migrate (Pull/Push) & Native MongoDB tools
  • Define and implement database best practices and standards including HA/DR, security etc in Azure
  • Manage and optimize database performance and resource utilization
  • Hands on experience on NoSQL issues and troubleshooting.

Secondary Skills:

  • Azure Database PaaS services (Azure SQL DB, MI, PostgreSQL & MySQL)
  • Good knowledge in tools, scripting & PowerShell script
  • Conforming to client compliances and expectations

Certifications (Good to have)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Associate
  • Apache Cassandra Administrator Associate Certification
