The Role: Azure Virtual Desktop Cloud Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Azure Virtual Desktop Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. As an Azure Virtual Desktop Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining virtual desktop infrastructure on the Azure cloud platform. Your expertise is essential in delivering efficient, secure, and scalable virtual desktop solutions that meet the organization's needs and drive digital transformation.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as escalation point for anything related to our Virtual Desktop ecosystem and drive day to day administration and management.
  • Provide ongoing senior level guidance and support for cloud technologies.
  • Create and proactively maintain accurate documentation.
  • Automate typical daily provisioning and decommissioning Virtual Desktops, incidents, requests, and problem management in our ticketing system.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of reliability in our Virtual Desktop environment.
  • Contribute to maintain our Cloud Operations KPIs and SLAs related to Virtual Desktops.
  • Troubleshooting and analysis of system issues.
  • Implement hygiene processes to enhance our teammate experience with Virtual Desktops.
  • Contribute to capacity planning related forecasting and trending of our Virtual desktop environment.
  • Mentoring other Engineers as needed.
  • Other Tasks assigned by Management.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience within Azure Virtual Desktops
  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field
  • System expertise in multiple technologies Cloud, Windows, Linux, VMWare, etc.
  • Analytic, problem solving and technical skills
  • Expertise in Automation, scripting, or coding
  • MS Office 365 experience
  • Active Directory/Azure AD

Nice to have:

  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with cloud services, SaaS, IaaS.
  • Experience with Enterprise level support.
  • Work results can influence short- and long-term tactical decisions and contribute to long term strategies and results.
  • Sets day-to-day objectives and delivers job responsibilities that impact areas that are directly linked to own team as well as other related teams.
