We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically-minded Research Data Analyst to support ongoing research efforts using real-world health and administrative data. This is a flexible, remote, position ideal for someone with strong R programming skills who is eager to apply data science techniques to meaningful research questions. The position will begin as part-time with opportunity to potential to increase hours and grow into full time depending on productivity and fit.

Role Summary

The Research Data Analyst will play an integral role in shaping research insights by preparing complex datasets, performing statistical analyses, and developing clear, actionable summaries of findings. You will work directly with the principal investigator and collaborators to support a range of projects involving observational and health services research. This is an excellent opportunity to apply and grow your skills in data analytics while contributing to high-impact academic and policy-relevant work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with large, real-world datasets requiring thoughtful structuring, transformation, and validation
  • Generate descriptive statistics, data visualizations, and analytic reports to support research goals
  • Conduct statistical modeling and hypothesis testing (with mentoring and support for more advanced work)
  • Maintain reproducible code and documentation using R (especially tidyverse workflows)
  • Ensure all data use complies with applicable research and privacy regulations

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in R, including data wrangling with the tidyverse
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, or applied quantitative science field
  • Experience working with real-world or observational datasets
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling (e.g., regression) and a desire to expand skills in applied analysis
  • Must be able to devote at least 15 hours per week on average
