Description
SAIC has a new opportunity for an Electrical Systems Engineer to work on a program supporting an exciting, fast-paced payload development. This position will provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to customers in remote sensing technology development, sensor requirements development, and space vehicle requirements development. The successful applicant will work to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex and technically challenging work.
Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work as an Electrical Systems Engineer as part of a world-class SETA team
Evaluate concept designs and system integration strategies into future architectures
Collaborate across multiple teams to refine requirements and system trades
Review development contractor's documents and procedures, requirements flow-down, verification methodologies, calibration plans, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and test plans to ensure program success
Review program for high risk areas (technical, cost, and schedule) and recommend mitigation approaches
Collaborate with SETA team members, development contractors, and in customer forums
- Provide Evaluation of Program Major Reviews and Milestones:
System Requirements Review planned for February 2024
Final Design Review planned for May 2024
Test Readiness Review planned for August 2024
Perform Preliminary Spacecraft Bus Study during calendar year 2024
Perform Preliminary Concept Design including Communications Architecture during calendar year 2024
Payload Government Acceptance Review planned for January 2026
Provide Evaluation of Program Major Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs) including:
Payload Interface Control Document
User Manual
Concept of Operations
Payload Specifications
Test and evaluation plan / test report
Qualifications
Knowledge and demonstrated experience in government acquisition process, project or program management
Active/current TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
Possess excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills
Have demonstrated ability to technically review the work of others
Ability to articulate technical recommendations to the customer
Proficiency using MS Office
- Bachelors Degree in technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics with 9+ years of experience or 7 years with a Masters.
