Job Details

Texas GovLink, Inc. is an Austin-based firm which has been a provider of technical and business professionals to clients in Texas. We are currently seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to be a key resource on a technical services team for our client,Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

**Location of job: Onsite. Candidates must be local to Austin, TX.**

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure.
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity using native and third-party tools.
  • Ensure best practices in security, compliance, and cost optimization across both cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native applications.
  • Set up and manage virtual networks, VPNs, security groups, IAM roles/policies, load balancers, and storage accounts.
  • Troubleshoot cloud service issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Participate in cloud migration initiatives, hybrid-cloud setups, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Maintain cloud documentation, operational runbooks, and diagrams.

Qualifications

Minimum (Required):

3 years of:

  • Hands-on experience with both AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security controls, and identity/access management in both environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab.
  • Proficient in scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) and automation.
  • Familiar with monitoring/logging tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Zenoss, and Splunk.
  • Hands-on experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS/EKS).

Preferred (Optional):

  • Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator/Architect Associate, or equivalent.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud and on-premises integration.
  • Knowledge of cloud cost management tools (e.g., Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer).
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps and cloud compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, SOC 2).
